Version Upgrade
The master-replica version of Redis console supports the function of major and minor version upgrade. Users can upgrade to a new version with one click on the console page, such as upgrading from version 3.2 to 6.0.
Precautions
- On the optional upgrade version page, the upgrade defaults to the latest minor version under the target major version.
- If the master-replica version of Redis that needs to be upgraded has slave instances, ensure that the slave instances are upgraded to the target version first to avoid abnormal synchronization between the master and slave instances.
- During the version upgrade process, the load of the source instance will increase during the data synchronization phase, and there may be a brief connection interruption during the VIP switch phase. Users are advised to perform this operation during off-peak business hours.
- After the upgrade is complete, the user's instance resources, orders, and connection addresses will remain unchanged. Users must ensure that their business has a reconnection mechanism in place.
Operation steps
-
Select the master-replica Redis instance, and choose "Version Upgrade" button in more options.
-
If the current instance version is already the latest version, then you will be prompted that no upgrade is necessary.
The upgrade window will display the optional upgrade version options for the current instance. Users select the target version and click the confirm button.
-
During the version upgrade process, it is mainly divided into the resource creation phase, data synchronization phase, and VIP switch phase. The resource creation and data synchronization phase theoretically will not cause a business impact, please wait patiently.
-
When the instance status turns to normal, it means that the upgrade is complete. Users can connect to Redis via the command line to check the version information.
