Recycle/Delete

Recycle/Delete

Resources that are recycled or deleted are hard to recover. Please ensure you renew and back up your data in a timely manner. In case of special circumstances, please submit a ticket and we will do our best to help you recover it.

Notification Channels

All notification messages will be sent to your designated recipients via email, SMS, and internal messaging.

To set up notification recipients, use https://console.surfercloud.com/uaccount/costcenter (opens in a new tab)

Recycle

Prepaid Annual/Monthly

The recycling and notification process for the current billing mode of ECS (Elastic Cloud Server) is shown below:

7 days and 3 days before expiration: A warning about imminent resource expiry will be sent to your designated recipients.

On the expiration day: A notification will be sent indicating that the resource has expired.

2 days after expiration: A reminder about imminent ECS shutdown will be sent.

3 days after expiration: A notification will be sent confirming that the ECS has been shut down. The ECS must be renewed to restart.

9 days after expiration: A reminder about imminent ECS recovery will be sent.

10 days after expiration: A notification will be sent indicating that the ECS has been recycled. The ECS will be recycled on the same day (resources cannot be recovered after recycling, so please renew in time).

Prepaid Hourly

1. Resource usage less than 3 days

1 hour after expiration: A notice about the impending recycling of the resource will be sent.

20 hours after expiration: A reminder will be sent that the resource will soon be recycled.

1 day after expiration: A recycling notice will be sent, and the host will be recycled.

2. Resource usage more than 3 days

20 hours after expiration: A reminder will be sent that the resource will soon be recycled.

1 day after expiration: A recycling notice will be sent, and the host will be recycled.

Postpaid Hourly

For postpaid hourly ECS, an order is generated every hour. If your account has sufficient balance, the fee will be automatically deducted. If the balance is insufficient, an arrears order will be generated.

For unpaid postpaid orders: A notice will be sent that resources may be recycled.

+24 hours after the postpaid arrears order: A resource shutdown notice will be sent, and the system will force shutdown on the same day.

+48 hours after the postpaid arrears order: A resource deletion notice will be sent, and the resource will be recycled on the same day.

Deletion

If you delete resources within the validity period, the system will calculate your billing information according to your payment method. When you delete a host, any cloud disks, networks, and other resources mounted on it will also be deleted and released simultaneously.

Prepaid

If you choose a prepaid billing method (annual, monthly, or hourly), and delete resources within the validity period, the system will deduct fees based on your usage time and return the remaining prepaid amount to your account. For specific refund rules, please see Delete Resource Refund.

Postpaid

If you choose a postpaid billing model, deleting the host will stop the service and generate payable orders on the hour.

  1. Under the prepaid model, if you delete the host and the current usage time is not a complete number of hours, the system will automatically round up to the nearest hour and calculate the refund based on actual usage.
  2. For detailed refund rules, please refer to Delete Resource Refund.
