MySQL Version Upgrade
MySQL cloud database supports manual upgrades, which involve new features, bug fixes, etc.
After creating a new MySQL instance, you can upgrade the MySQL instance version as needed. Currently, only minor version upgrades are supported.
Precautions:
- The upgraded version cannot be rolled back.
- The upgrade process cannot be cancelled once started.
Minor Version Upgrade
The minor version upgrade of the ordinary version instance is divided into two steps: data preparation and switch. As soon as the upgrade process starts, it will begin to prepare data. Users can choose the switch time on their own. The ordinary version instance will have a slight influence on the IO during the data preparation process.
The minor version upgrade of the high-availability version instance does not need data preparation. As soon as the upgrade process starts, it will immediately upgrade the backup node. After the master-slave switch is completed, it will continue to upgrade the original master node. Users can choose the switch time on their own.
During the master-slave switching process, there will be a flash break of about 20 seconds in the business. Please try to set the switch time during the off-peak period of the business, or ensure that the business has an automatic reconnection mechanism.
After clicking to upgrade the minor version on the console, you can choose the corresponding minor version and switch time.
After the version upgrade starts, the MySQL instance status is displayed as "Minor version upgrade in progress". After the data preparation is complete, the instance status is displayed as "Upgrade pending switch". At this time, the details page will display the switch time. Users can modify the switch time on the details page.
After the upgrade is complete, the instance status returns to its initial state.
