Introduction to NAT Gateway

NAT Gateway is an enterprise-level VPC public network gateway, which can allow cloud resources in the subnet that are not bound with elastic IP to access the external network, and can also configure port forwarding rules to let cloud resources provide services to the public.

Mode Setting

The NAT Gateway can be set to normal mode or whitelist mode.

In normal mode, all cloud resources in the designated subnet of the NAT Gateway that are not bound with elastic IP can access the external network through the NAT Gateway.

In whitelist mode, only the cloud resources that are in the designated subnet of the NAT Gateway and defined in the whitelist can go through the NAT Gateway to the external network.

Before switching the NAT Gateway to whitelist mode, you can pre-configure the whitelist to ensure that switching to whitelist mode will not affect normal business. In normal mode, although the whitelist can be configured, it does not take effect.

Port Forwarding

Users can configure port forwarding to map the intranet port of the cloud resources in the VPC to the NAT Gateway, so that cloud resources can provide services to the public.

In the designated subnet of the NAT Gateway, cloud resources bound with elastic IP will not appear in the optional list for port forwarding configuration.

Network Exit

Supports setting a specific cloud resource in the subnet to access the external network through a specified EIP.

Default exit rules are provided, supporting resources in the subnet to access the external network through load balancing or a specified EIP.
